The application process of the Value Based Health Care Prize 2025 consists of two rounds:
Step 1: Pre-application
Opening pre-applications: September 1st, 2024
Pre-application deadline: January 13th, 2025
The first step in the application process is to start with the pre-application. This step is not compulsory but strongly recommended. It will be evaluated whether your initiative meets the requirements based on the Value-Based Health Care framework. In addition, you will receive feedback on how you can improve your application to increase your chance to get nominated for the prize. To hand in a pre-application, fill in the pre-application form which consists of a 100-words summary of your initiative.

Step 2: Formal application
Opening formal applications: November 1st, 2024
Formal application deadline: February 21st, 2025
You can also directly formally apply for the VBHC Prize 2025. You can request the formal application form via application@vbhcprize.com. Your application will be judged by an internationally renowned and independent jury. Selection is based on patient value, costs, efficacy and efficiency, collaboration and implementation.
Selection Nominees
About twelve nominees are selected based on all formal applications. The internationally renowned jury will select the winners in the following categories:
VBHC Prize 2025
Patient Outcomes & Engagement Excellence Award 2025
Pay for Value & Cost-effectiveness Excellence Award 2025
Collaboration Excellence Award 2025
Primary & Home Care Excellence Award 2025
Tech Impact Excellence Award 2025
In addition, the Community Award will be awarded to one of the nominated initiatives elected by the VBHC community. The winner of this award is chosen by the VBHC community through votes. Voting for the Community Award will be open mid-March 2025.

For thorough academic grounding of the theoretic models and validation of the methodologies, an International Academic Advisory Council is set up, with a diverse and extensive background. The International Academic Advisory Council is formed by academics that are part of the international network of Value-Based Health Care Center Europe.
The VBHC Center Europe has established a group of VBHC Center Europe Ambassadors both as a way of expanding VBHC implementation in different countries and on different emerging topics. The community exists of ambassadors from around the world who want to build VBHC capacity and implement VBHC at the highest level across different health care systems.
